Introduction
The Australian Department of Immigration & Citizenship (DIAC) facilitates the migration of family members of Australian citizens and permanent residents through the Family Migration program.

Partner Visas
An Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident may sponsor his or her spouse, de-facto partner or same-sex partner for a Partner Visa to migrate to Australia.

Parent Visas
An Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident may sponsor his or her parents for a Parent Visa to migrate to Australia, if the parents meet some key criteria.

Child Visas
An Australian permanent resident may sponsor his or her child for a Child visa to migrate to Australia. This is generally necessary if, for example, a couple who are holders of an Australian permanent visa and their child was born outside of Australia.
